Eye Care Receptionist
General duties would include serving as the primary contact for patients and handle all front-desk and administrative-support responsibilities. Front-desk duties include checking-in and discharging patients, answering phones, processing insurance, stocking office supplies, and maintaining the cleanliness of the waiting room and break room.

The ideal candidate would have excellent customer service skills, a professional appearance, familiarity with health insurance and be computer literate. Experience in an optometry, ophthalmology, or optical office is desireable, but not require,, as is knowledge of insurance billing practices.


Optometry Technicians
The primary general duties of the optometric technician is to assist the optometrist in conducting eye examinations, take measurements, teach patients to use contact lenses, explain eye exercises to them, clean instruments and order supplies.

Other duties may also include handling of patient billing and records. Other duties include testing patients for color vision, depth perception, visual acuity, pupil reflexes, eye pressure, visual field testing and blood pressure. The optometric technician must also explain to the patient the proper use and care of eyeglasses and contact lenses, help make and repair eyeglasses, and be able to guide patients in choosing the right eyeglass frame to buy, and the necessary know-how to clean sophisticated ocular equipment

In order to be employed as an Optometric Technician, you need to possess a 1 to 2-year training diploma or Associate of Science Degree in the field.. An ideal candidate would possess great communication skills, be very organized and self-motivated, be able to have good judgment, and be able to handle hectic schedules.

Vision Therapy Technicians
Vision Therapy is a specialized treatment that can be best described as physical therapy for the eyes. The general duties of a Vision Therapy Technician emphasizes the application of binocular vision and visual perceptual disorder techniques for patients. The technician will employ therapies in Vision Therapy for Adults and Children, Vision Improvement Programs, Pediatrics, Primary Care, Special Testing, Infants Vision, Head Trauma/Rehabilitation, Children with Special Needs, Therapeutic Lenses, Contact Lenses and Low Vision.

In order to be employed as a Vision Therapy Technician, you need to possess a 1 to 2-year training diploma or Associate of Science Degree in the field.. An ideal candidate would also possess great communication skills, be very organized and self-motivated, be able to have good judgment, and be able to handle hectic schedules.
